Visitor levels at Big Bend are sitting at about average for May. The main trailheads and viewpoints will have some company, but nothing unmanageable. The last 8 miles of Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive, from Castolon to Santa Elena Canyon, are currently closed due to flooding. Please use caution when traveling in the area. Updates will be provided as conditions change.
Until further notice, the Boquillas Crossing Port of Entry will be open Friday through Monday, 9:00 am through 4:00 pm. It will not change to winter hours at this time.
